Know about Signs of Pregnancy while on Birth Control - How to prevent pregnancy?

Birth control pills are indeed among the most effective methods to prevent pregnancy. However, it is also important to note that abstinence is the only foolproof method of avoiding pregnancy.

This is because although a woman may indeed take birth control pills exactly as per directions, yet there is a 1 in 1000 chance that a woman may rather become pregnant. Most women tend to forget to take the pills a couple of times, which may also cause pregnancy. Pregnancy symptoms, whether or not the woman is actually on birth control, do not differ. Having said that we will now see pregnancy signs while on birth control.

Signs of Pregnancy While on Birth Control Pills

The early signs of pregnancy are indeed easy to recognize, more so, if it is not the woman’s first pregnancy. However, it is also important to note that during each of the pregnancies the signs will indeed be different. In one pregnancy the woman may also suffer from excessive nausea, while in the other, there will be no trace of nausea.

Lighter Period

Among the first signs of pregnancy before missed period is also a lighter period. Therefore, it is best indeed to keep a watch on change in duration and/or intensity of bleeding, as they signs of implantation bleeding, as opposed to a normal period.

Implantation bleeding is rather caused when the fertilized egg does attach itself to the wall of the uterus. As a matter of fact, implantation bleeding is among the early signs of pregnancy.

Breast Tenderness

Signs of pregnancy also include swollen, tender or even sore breasts. Tenderness or soreness in breasts is experienced, as they undergo changes to prepare for breastfeeding. The increased levels of hormones, estrogen as well as progesterone do cause the breasts to be particularly painful.

Know about Signs of Pregnancy while on Birth Control - How to prevent pregnancy?Abdominal Cramps

This is among the 10 pregnancy signs, which women need to look out for, while on birth control. More so, in case the birth control one is on, has almost eliminated menstrual cycle symptoms. Lower abdominal cramps are seen around the same time as the time of implantation.

Fatigue

Another sign of pregnancy is indeed fatigue. Unusual tiredness is rather caused because the body is working very hard, to keep up with the changes that it is going through. It not only just implies increased levels of hormones, but also that one’s heart is pumping harder so that nutrients reach the growing fetus.

Increased levels of progesterone often do cause fatigue as well as sleepiness too. Extreme emotions may also be experienced. Therefore it is not really uncommon to see a pregnant woman burst into tears for no particular reason.

Missed Period

A major sign of pregnancy is a missed period. However, most women are not actually able to figure out a missed period on birth control, as they may not get their periods regularly on account of pills. In some women, the periods may, in fact, be very light; therefore, the other signs of pregnancy, such as implantation bleeding may be ignored. In case one has a regular menstrual cycle and also face a missed period, then it is best to have oneself examined.

Frequent Urination

Another early sign of pregnancy is indeed frequent urination. Most women do notice this usually after 3 weeks. Some women may also suffer from constipation, as the internal organs do get squeezed when the fetus begins to grow.

Food Cravings

Extreme food cravings such as a strong desire to eat pickles, ice cream, etc., or any food, are a sign of pregnancy. Most women do have cravings for certain foods through their entire period of pregnancy.

Other than the signs of pregnancy whether on birth control or otherwise, do include headaches, indigestion, lower back pain, etc. While some women can experience these symptoms, others may not notice them at all. Therefore, it is important to be able to observe any changes in the body. If one is confused about one’s signs, and whether or not one is pregnant, it is always wise to get a check-up done immediately.
